I ran up to Crawford Notch to try my hand at Mt Pierce and Mt Eisenhower. Crawford Path through the Gibbs Brook Scenic Area is a very well cut trail in my mind. Elevation changes are smooth and gradual and the trail is easy to follow. It's also the oldest continually used trail in the US, dating back to 1819. I was able to bear boot to Pierce then needed snowshoes along the ridge between Pierce and Eisenhower. It was snowing when I started out but curtailed by mid-morning and allowed for some terrific views along the way.
